Skip Beat! Taiwanese Live Action

The announcement came out a couple days ago, but I am a slow bento. It's been announced that the Skip Beat! manga will be converted into a Taiwanese drama. The two leading roles have been announced. Kyoko will be played by Ariel Lin, who has been in Taiwanese adaptions of Itzura na Kiss and Tokyo Juliet. Ren will be played by Jerry Yan, an actor made famous by his role in the Taiwanese adaptation of Hana Yori Dango. While both are established actors, I'm admittedly a it worried about this adaptation. Ariel is adorably cute and bubbly, especially in the role of the airheaded but lovable heroine in Itazura na Kiss. I'm finding it difficult to see her playing such a dark role like Kyoko, especially one that has such a hardened personality. She's just too cute. Jerry looks cool, but I've never seen him act before, so I don't have much of an opinion. Either way, should be fun to see how they do this. I wonder how they'll deal with all the little demons that hang around Kyoko. That would look terrible in live action.

Jerry can't act for nuts. He is the worst amongst the f4 days. He always only have 2 expressions. The sombre one or the smiley one. If u have watched the recent basketball drama which he stars in it, u will know how bad his acting is. He is better off as a model than actor

agree with you on that.i believe they should have picked someone else other then jerry.heck vanness would have been better out of all of them but dont get me wrong they should have picked someone else either way.and not Joe and Jerry.

I think many people agree with you. The problem with manga remakes by Taiwanese is they seem not to give too much effort on it resulting in really bad ones. I can mention Marmalade Boy and Poor Prince (Yamada Taro Monogatari) as examples. But they have chance to redeem themselves by putting more effort in Skip Beat! for the story is excellent and funny. Thank you very much for hearing me out.

they should pick Vic Zhou for playing Ren Tsuruga, he is way more fit into the role than Jerry Yan. And for Ariel , i don't think that little chubby girl can transform into goddess or natsu , lots of roles that Kyouko so much amazed us on the manga *no offense for Ariel Lin fans*. Well..just my two cents

hohoho-hold up!>=O don't get fooled by Ariel's innocent kawaii looks! In Love Contract starring alongside Mike He she is the total opposite of the adorable airhead in ISWAK and she's good.
I have nothing on Jerry Yan since I've never seen him act before but he's quite handsome. Sho! Sho should be Mike He. The closest I've ever seen him get to a perfect conceited and selfish playa was in Why Why Love...and he's good too.
hhaai! cast: Ariel Lin as Kyoko. Jerry Yan(?) as Ren. Mike He as Sho. >=D

When is this drama beginning?
I live in the UK(Sadly :( ) And thought i could catch it on crunchy roll.

Truthfully,i have to agree that Ariel is way too cute to play Kyoko, and Jerry isn't how i would imagine Ren,
he reminds me more of Fuwa honestly; but we can only wait and see i suppose.

This drama has been postponed, although the reasons given are vague. There were some management changes and script issues, but there are also some rumors that Ariel Lin dropped the project because she was being mistreated. So no one knows if it'll even happen at all. I will keep you guys updated if anything changes.

I rather prefer mike he to act as ren. JERRY is a nono to me >.<

I saw the news Ariel Lin had a brain tumor recently, going under knife. Hope her well.

Isn't Ren supposed to be really tall? I guess they could fudge it a little be Sho would at least have to be shorter than that.

I'm not having very high expectations for this live-action, in fact, I think they might butcher my favorite manga, but I'm still curious as to how they're gonna do some of the parts so I'll definitely stick around and watch it anyway.
